By Our Reporters

In Uganda we have more than 2,000 petrol stations spread put in the different towns. But reliable sources in Energy Ministry and UNBS say that a good number of them don’t meet the minimum operational requirements which is the reason why a decision has been taken to have their licenses revoked and subsequently closed. The impending closure is in accordance with the Petroleum Supply Act which clearly makes it an offence to import or trade in adulterated fuel products. Consequently, a team led by energy ministry Petroleum Supply Commissioner Rev Frank Tukwasibwe has drawn up a list of non-compliant fueling stations that are going to be reprimanded in various ways. Whereas some are going to be fined, cautioned and have their licenses suspended, many others are going to have their operational licenses permanently revoked and their operations closed because they are repeat offenders who have, with impunity, been ignoring the Ministry and UNBS’s numerous warnings.

WHO IS ON THE LIST;
The offending fueling stations include: Katnkar F/S Lungujja, Bunamwaya Fuel Station, Bugema Fuel Station in Wakiso, Tick Oil Maddu Masaka, Suncity Kigowa, Stabex Walukuba in Bulisa, SL Pet Kibale, Oryx Kiwatule, Oryx Kazinga Namanve, Oryx Bukoto (for FDC’s Dan Mugarura?), Nasuuti F/S Mukono, Mukama Mulungi F/S Kyenjojo, MO Oil Namiryango, Loris Oils Mpererwe, Kyenda F/P Kyankwanzi, Kabojja F/S Wakiso, KK Trust Oils Kalamba Mubende, Gil Oil Arua, Gewina F/S Mabale Kibale, Century Energy F/S Mukono, Bugodi F/S Mayuge, Betego Oil Mukono, Bam ST Kaggwa Bushenyi, Asiimu Kyenjojo, United F/S Kawempe, Town Petrol Masulita, Toni Kiko Kabarole, Stabex Walukuba Bulisa, Sivan Musita Mayuge, Namataba Kirinya F/S Mukono, Mukisa FP Mubende, LK FS Kasanda Mityana, Kitumba FS Fort Portal, Kitende FS Wakiso, Kindly SS Rusiza Kibale, Kikandwa FS Mityana, KE Trust Nakaseke, Imran SS Mbale/Kumi, Eletuka Bugoma Kalangala, Petrocity Kasenyi Entebbe, Palm Oil Office Kalangala, Ngangi Gapco Kibale, Muntente FS Hoima, Masajja FS Wakiso, Kyangwali P/S Hoima, Kinawa FS Wakiso, Kikwaya FS Kibale, Kigangazi FS Kikangazi, Kasenge FS Wakiso, Jess FS Igayaza Kibale, Gombe FS Kabula Butambala, Elly FS Iganga Bunya Rd, Delta Kalangala, Butemba FS Kiboga, Tini Karugutu Fort Portal, Shine Energy Kamdini Lira, Petrocity Kiganda Mubende, OM Ndinawe Bwikara Kibale, Nile Oil Bugembe Jinja, Mutundwe FS Kampala, Mukisa FS Mubende, MO Oil Kangulumira Kayunga, Gapco Kitgum, Kasojo FS Kibale Kisoro, Hass Mpondwe Kisoro, Gaz Energy Kikorongo Kasese, Deo FS Igayaza Kibale, Byaru Petroleum Kasese, Banonda Maganjo, Agago FS in Agago, Abeb Ibuje Apac, Seka Energy Kayunga, Mulongo Musiita FS Mayuge, GN Petroleum Bujjuko Wakiso, Bulanga PS Iganga, Banoda Nagalama Mukono, Agat Oil Nsangi, Stabex Wanyange Jinja, Seka Energy Busika Wakiso, Palm Oil Kalangala, Myanzi FP Mityana, Kyetume FS Mukono, Kinawa FS Wakiso, Kikandwa FS Kiboga, Kigangazi FS, Katende FS Mpigi, Jank FS Nsaggu Wakiso, Jalamba Oils Mpigi, Explora Energy Katosi Mukono & Banoda Petroleum Masaka.
