Having endured endless bashing and demonization by disgruntled Christian believers using TV and radio stations owned by his gospel rivals, Prophet Samuel Kakande (of Kubiri) has ended his slumber and taken a profound step. In a move that will most likely leave Christian Life Church founder Ps Jackson Senyonga sleepless for months, Kakande has used his deep connections in the NRM ruling system and got himself a UCC frequency to start his own TV channel with plans to gradually expand into radio and online media field as well. It indeed takes a man of Kakande’s connections and networking given that UCC is officially known to have stopped issuing TV and radio frequencies in Kampala long time ago on grounds that the airwaves are too congested already. We can impeccably reveal that Kakande, who has for long been bruised by the very successful P5 Crusade Ps Senyonga has been broadcasting on his very popular Top Radio and TV, is the man behind Glorious TV (GTV) which our UCC sources say will complete the testing period in the next few days and begin serious programming. Sources close to him say that the wealthy Kakande has vowed to use his new TV channel to counter and detoxicate all the negative publicity that the defecting repentant Christians have been giving about him using Senyonga’s widely watched Top TV based in Makerere Kavule which is barely a km away from Kakande’s place.
In fact at some point it was feared that the miracle working preacher based at Mulago Kubiri (Kakande) was running a very high risk of preaching to an empty church someday given the rate at which his worshippers were crossing over to Senyonga’s church where they could be used (Senyonga says by God) to expose their scary experiences encountered at Kakande’s church over the years. Kakande will be joining other big name Kampala preachers who own and operate their own TV and radio stations. They include Aloysius Bugingo (Salt Media), David Kigganda (Kingdom media), Joseph Serwadda (Dream TV/Impact radio), Ps Jackson Senyonga (Top Radio, Top TV & MJ fm), Ps Augustine Yiga Abizayo (ABS TV), Ps Tom Mugerwa (Mutundwe FM) and Ps Robert Kayanja (Channel 44) just to mention a few. Kakande’s strategists expect to immediately woo over popular analysts like Tamale Mirundi and use him to attract millions of viewers and be able to overshadow Senyonga in a short time. It’s argued that when it comes to prudent business practices, Kakande who is already associated with many other businesses, easily dwarfs Senyonga.
