In a launch event that blurred the lines between news coverage and game show theatrics, journalists became the unexpected stars and competitors at Crown Beverages Limited’s unveiling of its explosive new campaign ‘Tema Enyonta – Refresh and Win’.
Invited to report on the promotion, members of the media were instead thrown into a surprise dance-off for a brand-new 32-inch television screen.
With the promise of electronics on the line, cameras were briefly abandoned for choreographed chaos as reporters from leading stations including CBS, Radio Sapientia, and Capital FM battled it out on the dance floor.
In a dazzling three-round showdown, it was Augustus Caesar of CBS who emerged victorious, swaying, spinning, and ultimately scooping the coveted screen in front of a roaring crowd.
His stiffest competition? Fellow journalists Charles Katabalwa and Luyombo, who proved they’re as nimble on their feet as they are with a microphone.
The spectacle was hosted by none other than flamboyant media personality MC JB Kazoora, whose commentary only intensified the electric atmosphere.
Skaters on boots, male and female added flair to the show, performing acrobatic routines that had attendees cheering, clapping, and even joining in the moves.
Beyond the dancing and wild cheering, attendees helped themselves to an endless flow of eats and drinks, while everyone walked away a winner at least with a branded CBL T-shirt and a sachet of soda bottles in their preferred brand.
The entire frenzy was just the curtain raiser for Crown Beverages’ newest promotional juggernaut, Tema Enyonta, a three-month national campaign aimed at rewarding customers for every 300ml returnable glass bottle they purchase.
With jaw-dropping prizes including cars, motorbikes, smartphones, TVs, cold cash, and a range of branded merchandise including caps, T-Shirts, string bags, and key holders, the promotion promises worth Shs5bn to be one of Uganda’s most generous and fun-filled to date.
Naris Twinomuhwezi, the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and also the Plant Manager for CBLsays the wide prize pool ensures that millions of opportunities are available for customers to win, making the campaign one of the most inclusive and exciting in Uganda’s promotion history.
“Tema Enyonta is our way of giving back,” said Rogers Anguzu, Commercial Manager at Crown Beverages. “Every crown could change someone’s day or their life.”
Running from August 27 to November 15, the campaign is being rolled out nationwide, reminding Ugandans that every sip is a shot at fortune and maybe, just maybe, a dance-off victory.
Crown Beverages is the bottlers of soft drinks like Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dews, Sting, 7UP, Evervess, Nivana and Aquafina. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
