Ssebaana Kizito (aka Pan Africanist) directly hails from former Kampala Mayor John Ssebaana Kizito’s family. His father Prof Phares Mutibwa, currently employed directly by Museveni as Principal for Kimaka Military College in Jinja, is the younger brother to the former DP President General.

The 30-year-old Pan Africanist, who ironically professes Musevenism, wants to be blessed to carry the NRM flag and make history winning the much-coveted seat for the ruling party come 2021. He tells Mulengera News he will initially be offering himself for the primaries to become the flag bearer for the National Resistance Movement. There is a lot of symbolism having someone related to the late DP diehard so closely making up his mind to flock with the ruling party and even have so much appetite to carry its flag in Kampala where late Ssebaana was (1980-2002) severally elected as MP, CA delegate and later on Mayor. It’s that symbolism that has greatly excited some in NRM seeing this as an opportunity to demoralize those sticking to DP claiming to derive inspiration from the values the late Ssebaana cherished and lived for. The NRM diehard was Prof Mutibwa’s first born and was birthed January 1991.
Currently, the youthful Pan-Africanist runs a 2nd hand clothes business in Owino Market besides the very lucrative food restaurant business he operates at Ovino Market in the ghettoes of Kisenyi in the same Kampala city he is desirous to lead. Leveraging on his high education, Ssebaana Jr has been stressing his education credentials that many of his competitors may not have accomplished. His academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Uganda Management Institute (UMI); a Bachelor of Arts in Arts degree from Makerere University and a Diploma in Law from the Law Development Centre. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Security Management from the prestigious UMI along Jinja road in Kampala.
Desiring to vie on the NRM ticket instantly exposes Ssebaana Jr to inevitably having to face off with Godfrey Nyakana and possibly Gen Henry Tumukunde whose deeper credentials and roots inside NRM the 30-year-old says isn’t something he is worried of given that majority voters in party primaries will be below his own age. These, he believes, are voters who have no emotional attachment to the old NRM Nyakana and Tumukunde might claim to have stood in solidarity with way before himself came of age.
Before accepting Museveni’s job of being the academic principal for Kimaka Military College, his own father Prof Mutibwa was a celebrated history professor at Makerere’s Faculty of Arts. (For comments, call, text or whatsapp us on 0703164755 or email us at mulengera2040@gmail.com).
