This goes to prove that our most valuable resource-our people have the right tools and a conducive work environment that enhances productivity,” said the Group Head of Human Resources Winnie Pertet. “To enable our employees to perform at their best, we proactively launched our signature Staff Wellness programme. This is built on the foundations of Financial, Physical, Emotional and Psychological Wellbeing. Purposeful Living is another core tenet of the programme.” The UAP Old Mutual Insurance Uganda management team led by the Managing Director David Kuria upon receiving the awards that were presented to the team by the UAP Old Mutual Insurance Uganda Head of Human Resources, Deborah Maitum, expressed extreme gratitude and felted honored for their relentless efforts towards best in class people management practices. Group CEO Peter Mwangi said “We are both delighted and humbled by this award and achievement. It comes at a time when Old Mutual Group is embarking on an exciting journey to prepare for our independent future.” He said the awards were as a result of combined efforts by the business leaders, dedicated HR team and engaged employees.

“This would not have been possible without everyone’s partnership and focus.” The Group’s parent company Old Mutual which is a dominant player in the financial services industry in Africa remains the Industry Leader in Financial Services and Insurance. This year marks the 7th consecutive year that Old Mutual has been certified by Top Employer in all 12 countries where it operates on the African continent. “Our journey over the last eight years has seen us build on strong foundations while being a catalyst for change, strengthening and elevating our performance. An important contributing factor has been the shift that we are driving, ensuring that we all take equal accountability for our career development to ‘unlock the greatness within each of us,” said Deborah Maitum who heads Human Resources at UAP Old Mutual.
