Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zzaake has publicly registered his craving to die through political martyrdom. He says that, having opted to live for one day on his feet standing and fighting for his freedom than for 100 years on his knees, he is prepared to sacrifice himself for his children and posterity to live in a better governed Uganda.
During the NUP Youth Convention that was held at Kavule-based headquarters on Monday, Hon Zzaake (actually the chief event convener) made it clear he would rather live for one day standing than for 100 years on his knees begging for his freedom.
As the crowd of roughly 1000 NUP leaders cheered him on, Zzaake said he was tired of living in a badly-governed Uganda and was determined to use the platform available to him to do something. That he had come to the conclusion that perfect political freedom will only come to Uganda through violence and sacrifice being deployed against Gen Museveni who he said will never respect any peaceful foe.
Zzaake, who leads the youth wing of NUP, said the young people of NUP had the duty to lead the unleashing of politics of defiance against the person of Gen YK Museveni.
He offered to set the standard on how this is going to be effected by seeking to personally arrest and assault Gen Museveni during any of the upcoming Presidential events involving Parliament which is his place of work. The opportunity for Zzaake to walk the talk could come sooner than many expect because Gen Museveni will in a few days appear before Parliament initially for the State of Nation address and subsequently the budget reading session.
Zzaake, who has previously engaged in violence against key government officials especially during the Togikwatako debate, said he would be taking the risk to strangle Gen Museveni the next time he comes to preside over any function involving Parliament.
Zzaake demanded that Bobi Wine, who he repeatedly addressed as my President, commands him and millions of NUP youths to begin engaging in acts of physical violence against not just Museveni but other key government officials.
But speaking moments later, Bobi Wine, who recognized Zzaake for his excellent mobilization skills, distanced himself from the planned physical violence against Gen Museveni. Instead, the ambivalent Principal said every Ugandan knows what they have been through as a result of Gen Museveni’s misrule adding that it’s up to each one of them to determine how they want to push back against the regime.
During the same Youth Convention, NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya led a prayer in which he called upon God to multiply confusion and misunderstandings between Gen Museveni and his lieutenants during Cabinet and army High Command meetings.
