Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), which is charged with regulating the enjoyment of Communications-related rights and discharge of the attendant obligations, has declared readiness to recruit suitably qualified Ugandans into a number of positions.
And the very fascinating truth is that UCC isn’t only a lucrative employer to work at, it’s also an equal opportunity employer implying that all Ugandans applying stand equal chance at getting the job provided they meet the minimum requirements.
The latest public notice indicates that the wealthy Commission, which is one of the best-paying employers in Kampala, is out to competitively recruit a Senior Enforcement Officer who will be based at its swanky Bugolobi headquarters in the Kampala Division of Nakawa.
The Commission is charged with a lot of enforcement work and the officer will be charged with providing legal and enforcement support and advice to the Commission in accordance with the law and for the efficient running of day to day operations of UCC.
The Senior Officer Enforcement will be directly supervised by Manager in charge of Enforcement & Compliance.
The other vacant position the Commission is seeking to occupy is that of Senior Officer Research & Development. There is strictly one slot and the details available at https:/erp.ucc.co.ug/jobs indicate that there is only one position.
The Officer will be charged with providing technical support to the research unit of the Commission besides undertaking project coordination, documentation and information dissemination-related tasks or assignments.
To consolidate the work of the Officer Cyber Intelligence, UCC is also seeking to recruit one Senior Officer Cyber Intelligence who will be charged with monitoring social media platforms all aimed at delivering insights and incisive actionable reports.
“This role further requires one to develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase awareness on the different topics of interest,” the UCC applications-solicitation public notice reads in part.
Because it’s a legal entity, which regularly sues or gets sued by aggrieved actors, UCC is also moving to strengthen the performance of its litigation-related function which purely resides with its legal directorate.
This is why the Commission has made available funds to facilitate the recruitment of one court clerk or process server who will be designated as Senior Officer Litigation and he will be answerable to the Commission’s Court Clerk or Process Server.
On the administrative side, UCC is also strengthening its front desk office operations hence the availing of funds to facilitate the recruitment of a Senior Office Administrator who will be directly supervised by the Commission’s Front Desk Executive.
It’s only one slot that is being recruited into and the lucky officer who finally gets recruited will be responsible for managing front office operations besides “providing approved required information in line with UCC policies and procedures.” Those interested in the competitively-available jobs have to complete their online application besides electronically uploading their CVs, cover letter and the other relevant certificates.
They must disclose three referees, their email addresses and telephone numbers through which those who successfully get shortlisted will be contacted. Because UCC is an equal opportunity employer, whoever gets involved into any lobbying or canvassing will automatically be disqualified from the recruitment process.
