TOP MP TELLS WHAT MAKES GENERAL MUHOOZI TICK

Igara East MP Micheal Mawanda Maranga a few days ago appeared on Radio Simba 97.3fm to drum up support for his boss Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who he and others are fronting for next President of Uganda after his father Gen YK Museveni come 2026.

In the Radio Simba interview, Mawanda (who also chairs the Commission on Discipline inside the MK Movement) was tasked to explain why it has to be Gen Muhoozi, and not anyone else from the NRM, coming to take over from Museveni and his explanation was as follows: “There will always be more than one standby generators but Ugandans have chosen MK as the most effective and more dependable of all standby generators present.”Before explaining what makes his man tick, Mawanda clarified that the transition from Gen Museveni to someone else is already on and that new leader will be no one else but Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Mawanda also explained that becoming President of Uganda requires someone who can effectively govern as running a complex poor country like Uganda “is like carrying a grinding stone [olubengo] on one’s head as opposed to those who imagine it’s as easy or simple as carrying a musical guitar.”

Mawanda also revealed that MK, who majority Ugandans have already bought and accepted as their next President, will soon be commencing countrywide consultation tours which will see him traverse all parts of Uganda to listen to Ugandans for their ideas regarding the type of country they want to see and live in after Museveni.

That the recent tour of Teso made MK feel loved and more encouraged to keep engaging fellow citizens on the way forward. Mawanda also implored fellow insiders in NRM to thank God for MK because his advent on the political scene has prevented, managed to overcome and obliterated “opportunistic anarchists” who were beginning to position themselves as the natural occupiers of any political vacuum Gen Museveni’s inevitable departure from State House would create.

Mawanda added that what makes MK uniquely attractive to him is the fact that President Museveni’s son is “a good listener who likes to go to the people and verify for himself things he keeps hearing from officials around him which is about seeking a second opinion on almost everything that gets to be reported to him.” That, because he is a man of the people, Gen MK will be a President spending more of his time out there interacting with community members as opposed to being an armchair President confined in State House.

“Even when he commanded the land forces, Gen MK is human like you and me with a wife and children which makes him a responsible family man. He is also 50 years, as you know, which makes him matured and reasonable enough to make an effective President for Uganda coming immediately after President Museveni’s long tenure of stability and transformation,” said Mawanda who has repeatedly distinguished himself as a diehard Muhoozi promoter. The senior legislator from Bushenyi has so far used every opportunity and platform that comes his way to tell and sensitize Ugandans about the MK Movement and the ideals it stands for.
