Well, has Government failed on its regulatory role or Parents have failed on their responsibility? A few days ago, with pity, sympathy, pain…, I read a story of a one single parent whose boy was brutally sodomized at Kings College Buddo for the last four years.
This story was so painful and touching! The boy kept silent even when things were not going on well at School and even with his health, the big boys and the one teacher Isa took advantage of this young man, they would threaten him with explussion and at worst death! I suspect he was still young and off course fearful with no bond or friendship with the mum to open up to her.
In the story of the mum and the sodomized boy who is to undergo surgery for annal warts! I sympathize with parents and take up lessons to learn from, either way, Parents have failed on their responsibility of not building a relationship, friendship, bond with their Children so that they are able to open up to them in time against all odds.
Now, away from boys’ and girls’ single Schools where these homosexuality/LGBTiQ are being promoted and encouraged! Even in Junior Schools, stories, books with content on homosexuality are being given out to Children especially those in the so called international Schools.
A way from the School environment, even at home the Video games Children download from the internet or even buy from video Libraries and play or even the Cartoons they watch on Television especially on Nickledeon and others all have contents of Homosexuality/gay or LGBTiQ. So who is to blame?
Parents or the Government Parastatals that have failed to regulate what the video Libraries sell out to our Children? Or even the licenses given out to the Cartoon Channels?
There are gay disco clubs, clinics mushrooming all over the Country especially in the Capital City whether these ones are sponsored or not, it is a topic for another time.
Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, Ministry of Education directing for an investigation in just a few schools will not solve the challenge at hand.
Homosexuality seems to be deeper than just two or three Schools in the Country, if it is the enemy, every corner or Environment has already been targeted.
In some Countries especially Europe, it has even become Criminal to talk about Homosexuality because it is taken as a human right thus Uganda has to take a bold stand on this matter before it is too late.
As a Country Uganda we seem not ready to take homosexuality/gay/LGBTiT as a right and as a value in diversity. (The author can be reached via [email protected]). (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [whatsapp line], 0779411734 & 0200900416 or email us at [email protected]).
