Smile Uganda will keep its shops and service centres open during the Coronavirus lockdown, the reliable broadband services telecom has announced.
In a statement issued on April 02, the telecommunication company said the move was intended to keep clients accessing dependable internet as many continue to work from home.
“At Smile, we are deeply committed to our relationship. So, we have made sure that you stay safe and connected during lockdown,” said Smile Uganda Country Manager Mohamad Bader.
The shops which will remain open “in line with the Government of Uganda Covid19 safety directives” are: the Acacia Mall, Muyenga Tank Hill Arcade, Ham Tower at Makerere Hill Road, Forest Mall Lugogo (Opposite Block B Entrance to Forest Mall), Garden City Shopping Mall (1st Floor, Next to Aristoc Booklex), Bukoto HQ (Smile Head Office, Bukoto), Tuskeys Supermarket Ntinda, and Lubowa Quality Shopping Mall, Lubowa.
Bader asked all Smile clients to immediately contact the company’s 24-hour customer care team (on 0720 100 100 or through email: firstname.lastname@example.org) for internet support in this period.
He further appealed to Ugandans to observe guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and President Yoweri Museveni to prevent further spread of the deadly Coronavirus disease.
