Judith Tuksmuhabwa, the Mbarara-based socialite with whom ex-Archbishop Stanley Ntagali fathered a child (produced barely four months ago), has explained why she hasn’t slept with her dully wedded husband Rev Christopher Tugumehabwe since the late 2019. Their marriage was solemnized on 15th December 2018 at the Anglican Rugarama Cathedral in Kabale Municipality.
Mulengera News has established that Rev Tugumehabwe is a Theology & Religious Studies lecturer at the CoU-owned Bishop Barham University in Kabale implying that Ntagali, in his capacity as the Archbishop, had supervisory authority over him. On Monday 7th December 2020, Judith (who came to stay with the Reverand with two children birthed from her past relationship) filed for divorce in Kabale Magistrates Court (via Divorce Cause No. 05 of 2020) saying she didn’t want him anymore.
In the same Court divorce petition, she accused him of acting violently and abandoning her in the house; something that condemned her to untold sex starvation. She reveals that as of that day (7th December), they had lived apart for more than a year. This implies that Rev Tugumehabwe only had her perform her conjugal duties for 12 months (basically 2019). She confesses never having a child with him at all. This confirms that the child she birthed months ago, in the later part of 2020, belongs to someone else and not Rev Tugumehabwe.
Whereas her party-loving close friends say that she went to Mbarara (where she subsequently opened a boutique) to enjoy socialite partying life, saying the life of living as a mere housewife married to a very busy University don was boring, Judith informs Court that her decision to abandon their Kabale abode to go and live in Mbarara was due to her desire to escape the rampant violent beatings to which the Reverand was subjecting her. That many times she had to run out of the house to avoid being killed by the rampaging Reverand who she accuses of being bad-mannered.
Through her Mbarara-based lawyers of NewMark Advocates, Judith informs Court that she even reported assault cases against the Reverand at Mbarara CPS but wasn’t adequately assisted. She also demands to be permitted by Court to move away with 100% of the matrimonial property on grounds that at the time of their marriage union or solemnization, Rev Tugumehabwe was financially a very poor man who had nothing on him.
That he was living in a small house in the banana plantation at his father’s home. She lists the miserable property they currently have and demands to go with everything because it was jointly acquired. These include a cheap old sofa set, a TV set, bed sheets, a wooden bed, mattresses, personal clothes, cupboard, cups, glasses and plastic plates!
Judith asserts that being granted divorce is the only way forward out of her current predicament because parents, friends and family lawyers have all been involved in trying to reconcile them only for their efforts to end in uttor failure. The babe, whose seductiveness has caused Ntagali very big reputational problems, demands for dissolution of marriage as the only remaining option so that she can freely move on with life.
The Kabale Grade I Magistrate had on Tuesday 15th December summoned Rev Tugumehabwe to come and defend himself against all these very damaging accusations by Ntagali’s babe but he didn’t turn up having told close friends that he had had enough with Judith and he regrets the day he met her. Before marrying the controversial Judith Tukamuhabwa, the Reverand had been in another marriage which ended following the death of his wife.
