“Lobbyists and power brokers friendly to him are busy lobbying whoever they consider relevant to have him become the next CEO for REA which financially is a much more lucrative and powerful docket than being Vision Group CEO,” says a source. As the Kabushenga lobbyists intensify their thing, State House has come out to vehemently refute claims that the President had reappointed the old man from Kanungu Godfrey Turyahikayo (aged more than 70) who headed REA for more than 20 years.
The President’s Press Secretary Lindah Nabusaayi says the Thursday online media reports (indicating that Museveni had reappointed Turyahikayo for another 18 months, with Eng Charles William Lutwama deputizing him) were totally false and should be ignored with the contempt they deserve. The online media reports had on Thursday evening created a frenzy as excited Turyahikayo friends jubilated thinking their man was finally back at REA.
