FOCUS ON ISSUES, NOT CHEAP TALK: MUSEVENI TASKS CABINET ON POVERTY ALLEVIATION
By Joel Mugabi
Today, three members of Museveni’s cabinet of fishermen and women took oath after they missed out on earlier inauguration ceremonies.
Those inaugurated today are: Muruli Mukasa (Public Service), Sam Cheptoris (Water and Environment) and Fred Kyakulaga Bwino Minister (State for Agriculture).
Speaking after the event, Museveni said he had tasked the ministers to “deliver results through service to our people.”
He added that it was high time the ministers helped transform Ugandans socially instead of spending time talking as was the case in previous terms of office.
“The message to all ministers and all our leaders who have taken oath is: This kisanja is not for talking, we must focus on the issue of getting most of the population out of subsistence farming to a money economy in order to achieve the social-economic transformation,” said the president.(For comments on this story, call, text or whatsapp us on 0705579994, 0779411734, 0200900416 or email us at email@example.com).
