CEC FINALLY PASSES NEW SECRETARIAT BOSSES AS KASAMBA RISKS LOSING HIS EALA GIG
By Mulengera Reporters
During today Wednesday CEC meeting in Entebbe State House, the ruling NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba responded to the reservations and fears members had previously exhibited before approving the newly appointed Directors that are meant to run the party secretariat in Kyaddondo. To understand the fears and reservations exhibited at the previous CEC meeting or session, read this earlier story earlier story exclusively published by Mulengera News https://mulengeranews.com/nankabirwa-jim-muhwezi-block-new-party-bosses-branding-them-pafo-moles/.
During today’s meeting, Lumumba demonstrated why fears that some of the nominees were indecisive about serving at Kyaddondo full time and competing for MP positions in next year’s elections aren’t well founded. She carried letters each of the nominees had written committing themselves, in writing, that they don’t intend to hold any elective positions or compete for one implying they will be fully available to serve the secretariat to justify the Sh20m they will be earning per month besides cruising in posh cars bought for them by the party.
This explanation by Lumumba disarmed everybody including the likes of Ruth Nankabirwa and Jim Muhwezi who had strongly objected to Emmanuel Ddombo being hired as Director Communications. The fading General from Rukungiri had accused amiable Ddombo of being resentful towards senior party cadres including himself and Sam Kutesa in whose censure motions he actively participated as an MP during the 6th Parliament (1996-2001).
This written undertaking to forfeit holding elective positions means Mathias Kasamba, who has been approved to serve as Director Mobilization, will have to lose his job at Arusha-based EALA where he monthly earns not less than Shs50m. Watch this space for more CEC updates!
