This Friday, a three member delegation from the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), led by the Chairperson Benjamin Kabiito, visited the new premises of the Supreme Court at Plot 5 Lourdel Road opposite the Ministry of Health headquarters in Kampala.

The purpose of the visit was to confirm the readiness of the premises for accommodation by the Judiciary. The JSC Chairperson was accompanied by Commissioners Ms Norah Matovu and Hajji Lubega Waggwa Badru.

The Judiciary Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr. Pius Bigirimana explained to the JSC officials that the Supreme Court will temporarily occupy the third and fourth floors as they await to move to the new appellate court building at the Judiciary headquarters near City Square.

Dr. Bigirimana added that the first and second floors of the same building will accommodate the Anti-Corruption and International Crimes Divisions of the High Court.

The Registrar of the Supreme Court, HW Harriet Ssali said the Court will be moving to the new location next week. The Commissioner engineering and Technical Services, Eng Dr. Christopher Ebal, was in attendance and corroborated everything Bigirimana and Harriet Ssali said.
