Its bad day at NBS as their star and dedicated employee Ibrahim Shamiru Byakika quits to take up new assignments and roles at Hon Moses Balyeku’s Baba Media Group which comprises of both TV and radio outlets.

Jinja-based NBS Media Group must have become emotionally more broken when Ibrahim Shamiru Byakika confirmed he was calling it a day after being their employee for 6 solid years. “Hello Bantu Bange, 30th June 2022 Ekitangaaza was my final Programme @Nbs Fm and last day. A great Six years at this great station have finally come to an end,” Byakika declared in a social media message.
Byakika, who can never stop thanking NBS proprietor Nathan Igeme Nabeta for the generosity with which he always treated him, added that: “Thank you Chairman, Brother and Boss, Honorable Nathan Igeme Nabeta (NIN) for the opportunity and mentorship. Thank you the NBS management and newsroom for the support.”

He also had a word for the audience that had loyally celebrated him and endorsed his journalistic works since 2016. “To you the listeners, thank you for tuning in and thank you for loving me, my programs etc. I can’t wait to tell you nti: OBUSOGA BULAIRE.” Ibrahim Shamiru Byakika who joined NBS FM as a news anchor/ presenter and talk show host in February 2016, has been one of the formidable figures at the station where he has been a senior investigative journalist, news anchor and vastly followed talk show host.
Byakika started his journalism practice at Bamboo FM before proceeding to work with Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-owned radio Bilal in Old Kampala. He also worked at Apex FM and Source FM whereafter he was recruited to work for Igeme Nabeta’s NBS Media Group. As he moves into moving mountains serving at Moses Balyeku’s Baba Media Group, Byakika will be remembered as a journalist, news reporter, news anchor and political show host who was demonstrably dedicated to his journalistic work and practice.
