Martin Kyomugisha (aka Defiant Martin), an influential personal assistant who handles KCCA Speaker Abubaker Kawalya’s social media accounts, has publicly communicated his master’s disappointment with PP/NUP failure to announce him Rubaga North flag bearer as part of the list that was released last night. The truth is that as we reported earlier (, moneybags Kawalya has done a lot for PP/NUP in the short time he has been their member.

Defiant Martin says the delay to declare Kawalya was a result of the intensive lobbying Betty Nambooze, Muwanga Kivumbi, Medard Segona and other politicians from Ssuubi Group have engaged in imploring Kyagulanyi to sacrifice his man Abubaker Kawalya to ensure Moses Kasibante secures 3rd term as area MP.

Defiant Martin, who until recently was an influential employee in Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago’s office, mocks the Ssuubi diehards that their Kasibante has simply become too unelectable to the extent that even if they manipulate Kyagulanyi to endorse him, the man will have to end up in the political Taiwan. He claims that the Namboozes are trying to push Kyagulanyi to meddle into the activities of the Elections Management Committee by forcing Mercy Walukamba to give the flag to Kasibante who the grass root voters have clearly rejected.

Some say Kawalya should be consoled by the fact that his sister Nabillah Nagayi has been handed the NUP Flag for Lord Mayorship (where she clearly stands no chance against incumbent Erias Lukwago).  The unfortunate truth pushing Kyagulanyi into a complex dilemma is that the wealthy Abubaker Kawalya doesn’t seem prepared to give any concessions about the Rubaga North MP Seat which NRM’s Beti Kamya is determined to grab capitalizing on a divided opposition.
